Rapid City deer harvest donates thousands of pounds of meat to Feeding South Dakota

Nearly 5,600 pounds of deer meat have been donated to Feeding South Dakota following Rapid City’s annual deer harvest this winter. The donation, resulting from the culling of 200 deer, is part of the city’s ongoing effort to manage deer populations within city limits and support community members in need. Over the past decade, the city has contributed nearly 55,000 pounds of meat to the organization, with more than 25,000 pounds donated in the last four years alone.
