OANN Rated Right in July 2025 Blind Bias Survey

One America News Network was rated Right (3.13) in the July 2025 Blind Bias Survey, confirming AllSides' Media Bias Rating at the time. A total of 718 people across the political spectrum blindly rated the bias of content from One America News Network.

Respondents self-identifying as Lean Right or Right rated One America News Network as Lean Right, on average, while others rated the outlet as Right. Democrats rated the outlet as Right, while Independents and Republicans rated it as Lean Right.

OAN Rated Right Following Mar. 2023 Small Group Editorial Review and Feb. 2023 Blind Bias Survey

One America News Network’s (OAN) bias was rated Lean Right by Americans across the political spectrum in the Feb. 2023 Blind Bias Survey. This differed from AllSides' existing rating of Right. After conducting a Small Group Editorial Review in March of 2023, during which three left, center, and right reviewers rated OAN as Right on average, AllSides opted to keep OAN’s rating as Right, and its AllSides Media Bias Meter™ rating was adjusted to incorporate the results of the Blind Bias Survey.

In the Blind Bias Survey, there was broad agreement among respondent groups about OAN's bias. Respondents from all sides of the political spectrum — left, right, and center — rated OAN Lean Right on average.

The AllSides Small Group Editorial Review returned a bias rating of Right for OAN. Each reviewer on the multipartisan panel gave a rating of Right for OAN overall, citing instances of slant, sensationalism, story choice appealing to conservatives, and bias by omission of left-leaning voices.

AllSides panelists noted the use of sensationalism in the headline of an article titled Anarchy Hits “Cop City.” In another headline, Arizona Christian University Pledges Action After LGBTQ Activist School Board Strikes Down Partnership, a reviewer from the Center noted a sensational use of the word “activist” to describe a school board that opposed only one partnership. Similarly, language in an article about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was seen to be sensational, saying DeSantis “took shots” at Gavin Newsom and “attacked” California for the “demise of liberal states.” Other headlines employed spin that favored right-leaning perspectives, including James O’Keefe Is Not Backing Down and Veteran Responds To Zelensky Taunting U.S. Troops.

All reviewers noted the presence of right-leaning story choice, with no stories representing the interests of the left and very few including left-leaning voices:

Coverage of President Biden was largely seen to be negative, containing right-leaning slant. An article titled Biden Compared Asylum Seekers To Jews Fleeing Nazis notes that President Biden made “questionable remarks” and emphasizes the hike in southern border interactions. Another article highlights President Biden’s refusal to answer reporter questions about COVID-19.

OAN Rated Right in Feb. 2022 Independent Review

An independent review of OAN conducted in February 2022 by a Center-rated AllSides team member noted a constant use of sensationalism and heavy focus on issues of importance to the right, with little to no coverage or analysis of left-leaning perspectives and issues.
