"Love Jones" has become something of a cult classic since its original 1997 release. The film starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate is frequently cited by moviegoers as a favorite for its depiction of Black romance. That sentiment is what playwright Anthony Green taps into with "Gay Love Jones," a play he hopes captures the spirit of the original movie while telling a new story.
