With little time to spare, Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana turns in ballot petition

LINCOLN — Backers of medical marijuana went right up to the wire Wednesday collecting signatures on a pair of initiative petitions. With barely an hour to spare, Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana delivered petitions bearing more than 114,000 signatures each to the Secretary of State's office for verification. Christa Eggers, the effort's campaign manager, said the campaign wanted to give as many people the opportunity to sign as possible.
