The Richmond-based Southern-style baker Joye B. Moore, founder and CEO of Joyebells, received a semifinalist nomination for the Black Ambition Awards founded by Pharrell Williams. The prize funds small, Black-owned businesses to scale up in size, awarding sums that range from $20,000 to $1 million. The 16-week program saw 250 semifinalists in five categories.
