Vatican Says Excommunicates Critic Of Pope For 'Schism'

The Vatican has excommunicated Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, a virulent critic of Pope Francis, after finding him guilty of 'schism', the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith said on Friday.
In finding the Italian archbishop "guilty of the reserved delict of schism", the Dicastery cited "his public statements manifesting his refusal to recognise and submit to the Supreme Pontiff".
