The 579 stores at risk under the Kroger and Albertsons merger

Supermarket chains Kroger and Albertsons on Tuesday released the list of almost 600 stores they would sell under merger. Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen said that workers at affected locations are being notified this week. They will be told their jobs will be moved to the company buying stores. States with the highest number of shops affected are Washington with 124, Arizona 101, Colorado 91 and California 63. The two chains have offered to sell 579 stores in markets where they overlap to C&S Wholesale Grocers, a New Hampshire grocery supplier...
