Tropical depression may form in the Atlantic Ocean as Debby remnants threaten the northeast

A tropical wave that hurricane forecasters spotted Thursday morning could form into a tropical depression in the Atlantic Ocean early next week, according to the National Hurricane Center of Miami. NHC forecasters also said that while Debby has downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone, its remnants are threatening the northeast region with tornadoes and flooding Friday. The tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the Atlantic, about several hundred miles to the west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
