Weather alert for thunderstorms in Bergen County early Saturday evening

The National Weather Service issued a report at 3:56 p.m. on Saturday for thunderstorms until 4:45 p.m. for Bergen County.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

"At 3:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a gusty thunderstorm over Yonkers, moving northeast at 30 mph," according to the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects."
