A Southwest flight bound for San Francisco International Airport was diverted to Ontario International Airport Saturday evening after the smell of smoke was detected in the aircraft, according to Southwest Airlines. Southwest Flight 984, operated on a Boeing 737 MAX 9, departed Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport just after 7:30 p.m. en route to SFO, but declared a general emergency onboard and was diverted to Ontario International Airport in San Bernardino County.
