Faint northern lights visible in Alabama Monday night

As of 10 p.m. Monday, a G4 geomagnetic storm was occurring according to the Space Weather Prediction Center. The Kp value was an 8. The Kp value is what we use to know how far south one can view the northern lights. Typically, in Alabama, we need a G4 storm and a Kp value of 8 or 9 to see the northern lights.
