Since 2014, Pastor AmunDayo Edwards has been leading a congregation he founded in Sacramento called the Integrated Praise Spiritual Center. It is a spiritual home he created to serve people like himself: Christians who don’t feel welcome elsewhere because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Edwards is transgender. He grew up in the Pentecostal church, where he felt a calling to pastor but also to live his authentic life as a man. “At that point, I knew that they weren't going to accept me in any way,” he said....
