Mississippi River floodwaters at Muscatine receding
After Mississippi River at Muscatine crested last week, flood waters are receding. The base of the Mississippi Harvest Statute, which was previously submerged, is beginning to show again. The flood crested at about 21.5 feet. According to the National Weather Service, the water was at 20.3 feet on Monday, July 15. A sanitary sewer replacement project on East 8th Street and the rerouting of a sewer across Clinton Street have been delayed due to the Mississippi River flooding.
