NYC weather: Flash flood warning issued for New York City Sunday evening
A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 5:07 p.m. in effect until 8 p.m. for Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. "At 5:07 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," states the weather service....
