A tropical cyclone that crossed the Indian Ocean early last year has been certified as the longest-lasting tropical cyclone on record, the World Meteorological Organization reported Monday. The WMO, an agency of the United Nations responsible for naming storms, declared Tropical Storm Freddy the longest cyclone on record.
