PARIS — Other athletes are louder. Other athletes are more colorful. Other athletes have not only embraced the spotlight, they’ve ripped the thing off the ceiling so they can position it directly in front of their smiling faces.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Track stars get one shot every four years to compete in front of the global audience. How do you build a comfortable existence around a few races that happen as often as we elect our presidents?
