X Influencer Bias Chart & Ratings
The AllSides X Influencer Bias Chart™ reveals the media bias of top influencers on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In a polarized media landscape where viral tweets often carry as much — or even more — weight than legacy news articles, it's more important than ever to understand the bias behind the social media content we consume.
Everyone has a bias, but hidden bias misleads and divides us. Our influencer chart and other tools for news balance free you from filter bubbles so you can get multiple viewpoints and think for yourself.

What is the X Influencer Bias Chart?
The AllSides X Influencer Bias Chart is a clear visual guide to help you identify the political bias of social media content creators on X. Knowing the bias of media creators allows you to think for yourself, get a broad view, and not be manipulated.
We define an influencer as an individual who actively and regularly posts about current events, politics and culture on X and has over 1 million followers. Influencers are not organizations or brands — they are people whose voices shape public discourse daily. Some are independent commentators; others are affiliated with media outlets or were in the past.
Why influencers? Influencers play a massive role in how public opinion is formed. According to a 2024 Pew study, about 1 in 5 Americans — and 37% of people under 30 — say they regularly get news from influencers on social media. That's a fundamental shift in how Americans get information and shape their political views. News influencers are mostly likely to be found on X, where 85% have a presence, Pew found.
AllSides was an early pioneer in providing tools to understand the bias of traditional media sources, but there hasn't been a way to gauge the bias of the most powerful voices on social platforms — until now. We're pioneering that, too.
How Does AllSides Rate Influencer Bias?
AllSides approaches ratings with a commitment to balance, transparency, and methodological rigor. Each influencer on the chart is rated based on how they express their own political perspective in their content. Most ratings were determined via Small Group Editorial Review, one of our core media bias rating methods — a panel of three people on the left, center, and right who are trained to see bias independently reviewed each influencer's X posts. They assessed signs of political bias based on the influencers' commentary and positions on hot-button issues like:
free speech and censorshop • immigration • taxes • COVID-19 policy • abortion • transgender issues • size and scope of government • tariffs and the economy • foreign policy • support or criticism of public figures
Some influencers openly declare their bias. For others, the team looked for signs of consistent ideological leanings over time.
Our methodology is multipartisan, but each individual will have a subjective opinion of the bias of any given influencer. We reflect the average view of all Americans, not one individual. We continually conduct bias reviews to keep our ratings trustworthy and up-to-date.
